Bohm, Turner, and Harper are the NL All-Star starters for the Philadelphia Phillies

There’s a loud and clear statement coming from the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League. This week, two additional players from the squad were awarded a coveted starting position in the upcoming Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The National League’s powerful All-Star infield will be led by Trea Turner, Alec Bohm, and teammate Bryce Harper, who was earlier selected by fans as the starting first baseman.

For Phillies fans who have been observing this trio’s genius throughout the season, this is hardly surprising.  With his blistering bat, Harper, the current National League MVP, has continued to dominate, and Turner, who was added to the team in a trade last offseason, has added outstanding hitting and a spark of enthusiasm to the lineup. The rise of Alec Bohm, nevertheless, maybe the most interesting development. With great all-around numbers and a major league doubles lead, the rookie third baseman has made tremendous progress in his growth.

Notable is Bohm’s selection as an All-Star. At third base, he easily defeated the opposition, winning a massive 70% of the fan vote over Manny Machado, the established star. This is evidence of Bohm’s outstanding season as well as the fervent Phillies fan base.

Not since Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, and Ryan Howard did the Phillies have an infield this talented. Bohm, Turner, and Harper are all performing at an All-Star calibre, and some observers go so far as to say that this infield may be the finest in team history. That is yet to be determined, but there is no denying that this trio has played a significant role in the Phillies’ success this year.

Excitement was in the air in the City of Brotherly Love when it was announced that Bohm and Turner would be joining Harper as All-Star starts. According to reports, the Phillies clubhouse “erupted” upon hearing the news, demonstrating the true team spirit and togetherness that have propelled their successful season. “It’s great for the organization,” said manager Rob Thomson, expressing his happiness for his players. Being on a national platform is fantastic for all of these men.”

For Philadelphia baseball fans, this is a victory as much as for the players or the Phillies franchise. We are quite proud that the city will be represented in the All-Star Game by three of its players. When the Phillies come home following the break, the atmosphere at Citizens Bank Park is guaranteed to be electrifying, and supporters will be ready to watch as their All-Star infield continues to guide the team toward a possible championship run.

Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas will host the Midsummer Classic on July 16. With a strong offence led by an impressive All-Star infield, the Philadelphia Phillies are a team to keep an eye on as they attempt to go deep into the postseason and possibly win a World Series for the city.
